Introducing Memberships — and What's Changing at TryGRCLabs

TryGRCLabs started as a fully free platform. No paywalls, no credit card, just hands-on GRC training for anyone who wanted it. That was the right call early on — it let us build in the open, get real feedback, and grow a community of people genuinely trying to build GRC skills.

But running a platform powered by AI grading, text-to-speech, and cloud infrastructure isn't free. As usage has grown, so have the costs. To keep building and keep the platform online, we're introducing a Pro membership tier.

Here's exactly what's changing and what it means for you.

What's new

We've introduced two tiers: Free and Pro ($20/month).

Free gives you access to all Beginner learning paths, 5 AI answer checks per day, 10 answer reveals per day, and 3,000 text-to-speech characters per week. Everything you need to get started and decide if the platform is right for you.

Pro unlocks the full platform — Intermediate and Advanced learning paths, 25 scenario submissions per day, 500 AI checks, 30,000 text-to-speech characters, unlimited answer reveals, case study access, and the new CV/resume generator.

New features for members

Alongside the membership launch, we've shipped several new features exclusively for Pro members:

AI-powered CV generator — based on your completed paths and modules, it generates GRC-relevant resume bullet points organised by skill category. Select a target role (GRC Analyst, IT Audit, Privacy Operations, and more) and get a professional summary and category breakdowns ready to drop into your CV.

Full scenario history— every AI-graded scenario submission you've made, with your score, feedback, and full submission text. Free accounts see the five most recent. Pro members get the complete history.

Detailed progress dashboard — a new Progress tab on your profile showing your activity this week, difficulty breakdown, and recent completions at a glance.

If you already have an account

Nothing changes immediately. Every existing account has been grandfathered in with 14 days of full free access while you decide. You'll see a countdown on the dashboard. After that, Intermediate and Advanced paths require a Pro plan — but your progress, XP, and certificates are yours to keep regardless.

Why $20/month

It covers the AI costs that make the grading, feedback, and text-to-speech possible. It's not a profit play — it's what keeps the lights on so we can keep adding content and improving the platform.
