Introducing Max — the Answer Key, and 1.5× the AI
Some people come to Do GRC to be tested. Some come to learn the material as fast as they can, and for them the most useful thing on the page is the answer. Until now the only way to see one was the Reveal Answer button, one question at a time, and you gave up that question to use it.
Today we're adding a tier for the second group. Max is $50 a month. It is Pro with half again the AI allowance, and it comes with an answer key you switch on yourself. Here is what it does, what it costs you when it's on, and how the whole pricing page now reads in four lines.
Pricing, in one breath
| Price | What it gets you |
|---|---|
| $0 | Some of the content is free — the full beginner journey. |
| $10 | Plus unlocks the whole site. |
| $20 | Pro unlocks the whole site, with more AI use. |
| $50 | Max: more AI use again, and unlocks the answers. |
Nothing changes for Free, Plus or Pro. Same prices, same quotas, same 3-day trial on Plus and Pro. Max has no trial.
The answer key
A Max member gets a switch, on the profile page and at the top of every room and lab, labelled Answer key. It is off when you join. Turn it on and the accepted answers appear under every room question as you work — the same list the marker compares your answer against — and, in a lab, the answer to every structured field appears under the field: the expected value, the alternatives that are also accepted, and where in the evidence it comes from. Written lab prompts show what a full-credit answer covers. And on every scenario path, each task gets a model answer — one strong response, written against the same reading material you were given, naming the organisation, its systems and its numbers — so you can see what a complete answer looks like before you write your own.
Turn it off and all of that disappears again. You can flip it as often as you like, and it follows you across devices because it is a setting on your account, not on your browser.
One thing is deliberately not in the key: the lab marking material. The key shows you the answer, not the tolerances, rubrics, or flaw lists the marker uses. The key is for learning the material, not for learning the marker. A scenario model answer, likewise, is one strong answer and not a script — your own submission is still graded on its own merits.
The trade: no XP while it's on
This is the part to read twice. While your answer key is on, you earn no XP for anything you answer, anywhere. Rooms, case studies, labs, scenarios — all of it. Rooms still complete, labs are still scored, scenarios are still graded and you still get the feedback. The points are simply not awarded, and every screen says so at the moment it would otherwise have paid you.
The reason is the leaderboard and the certificates. XP is supposed to mean you worked something out. If the answer was on the screen, it doesn't, and we would rather withhold the points than quietly devalue everyone else's. Switch the key off and you earn XP again from the next answer you give.
1.5× the AI
Max also raises the two quotas that people actually run into. Everything else — scenario submissions, AI Populate in the GRC Toolkit, the GRC Coach allowance — is the same as Pro.
| Per day | Pro | Max |
|---|---|---|
| Shared AI checks | 1,000 | 1,500 |
| Text-to-speech characters | 50,000 | 75,000 |
| Scenario submissions | 25 | 25 |
| AI Populate | 3 | 3 |
If you're already a member
Plus and Pro members on Paddle can upgrade to Max in place from the pricing page or the profile page. You are charged the prorated difference today and get Max immediately; a downgrade later takes effect at your next billing date, so you keep what you've paid for. Stripe subscribers upgrade through the Stripe billing portal from the same buttons.
Once you're on Max, the switch is waiting on your profile page under Membership. It starts off. Nothing about your account changes until you turn it on.
Why $50
The answers are the thing the whole platform is built to withhold, and the tier that hands them over should cost enough that nobody picks it by accident. The extra AI allowance is there so that someone who is paying for speed gets speed everywhere, not only on the questions. Pro remains the plan for most people.
As always, everything the AI marks and every answer it generated is unreviewed and can be wrong — the answer key included. The disclaimer says this at length; it applies just as much to an answer you are shown as to one you are marked against.
See the full comparison on the pricing page, or open your profile to change plan or find the switch.
